When issues between couples get unresolved resentment can build up. Over time this may become a deep and bitter anger that can eventually destroy the love in a relationship. Poor communication usually is part of the story. Resentment can flow in one direction or in both but regardless, is toxic.

I help people process and work through built up resentment to attempt to restore emotional safety and tranquility in the relationship. This is done by fully discussing the perceived transgressions, encouraging validation and empathy as well as finding other ways in which to repair the damage. The work of decreasing resentment requires patience and the ability to take responsibility for behavior that might have been damaging to the other.
