What type of therapy services do you offer? I do individual therapy and couples counseling. I offer face-to-face and phone therapy sessions (for individual clients only). My Marriage and Family Therapist Registered Intern also offers individual therapy and couples counseling. What is your fee? You have two fee options:
What is a MFT Intern? MFT Interns have their Master's Degree in
Marriage and Family Therapy or Counseling Psychology. They must have
approval through the Board of
Behavioral Sciences and have weekly supervision meetings with their
clinical supervisor where they review their cases, gain further
training and discuss the ethics
and legal issues of being a therapist. You not only can get valuable
help and experience from an intern, but your case is reviewed by the
supervisor as well. So you essentially get two trained people
collaborating on your issue. Interns are required to have 3000 hours
of approved
experience before they may sit for the licensing exams. Do you take insurance? I currently do not take insurance. Unfortunately, this means more out-of-pocket expense for the client, however, many people prefer the privacy that contracting directly with the therapist provides. With insurance, some are concerned about keeping their psychotherapy records private - which is not the case if insurance is used. Others worry that a particular diagnosis might limiting their future insurability. If you’re interested in seeing me and still would like to submit to your insurance, check with them about their out-of-network policy. It’s possible you can receive partial reimbursement. Upon request, I’m happy to provide you a monthly statement of services. What forms of payment do you take? I take cash and personal checks. I can also take online payments ahead of sessions via PayPal if this is more convenient. Will be sessions be confidential? The therapist-client relationship is confidential but there are exceptions. I am legally bound to report child abuse and elder abuse. I am also required to report intentions to commit homicide or do grave bodily injury to another. Lastly, I am bound to break confidentiality to protect a client who is actively suicidal. What is your cancellation policy? I have a 24 hour cancellation policy – if you need to cancel a session, please call 24 hours prior to your scheduled session to avoid incurring a full fee charge. |
