EMOTIONAL SAFETY

Creating emotional safety is one of the cornerstones of my relationship therapy work. Couples who lack in "emotional safety" don't feel truly at ease with their partner and on some level feel emotionally vulnerable. My six aspects of emotional safety between two people are feeling heard, understood, validated, respected, empathized with and loved. Good couples communication is paramount to emotional safety. Some of the consequences of low levels of emotional safety in a relationship are built up resentment, frequent conflict, living separate lives, infidelity and so on.

I teach couples about the aspects of emotional safety and how to increase it in their relationship.
